Mariana Fernandez grew up in Long Beach, California, where her upbringing instilled a strong sense of community and justice. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of California, Los Angeles. Ms. Fernandez later earned her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, where she graduated in the top 20% of her class. While at Loyola, she served as a judicial extern at the California Court of Appeal, gaining valuable insight into the judicial process. Additionally, she participated in the school’s Immigration Law Clinic, providing critical legal assistance to underserved populations, and served as a research editor for Loyola’s International and Comparative Law Review.
Ms. Fernandez’s journey into the legal field began during her undergraduate years when she worked at a personal injury law firm. Starting as a file clerk, she quickly advanced to the role of legal secretary, where she gained hands-on experience with the litigation process and trial preparation. In this role, she often translated for Spanish-speaking clients, witnessing firsthand how language barriers and cultural differences added to the stress of navigating the legal system. These experiences motivated her to attend law school and dedicate her career to being a voice for clients who might otherwise feel unheard.
Today, Ms. Fernandez is an integral member of LyfeLaw’s Employment Law Division, where she represents employees in various workplace disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour violations. Her compassionate approach and thorough advocacy ensure her clients feel supported and empowered throughout the legal process. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Fernandez uses her bilingual skills to connect with diverse clients and fight for the justice they deserve.
